About us

A carer is someone who is unpaid and supports a relative, partner, friend or neighbour. Carers come from all walks of life and can be any age. Carers save the country, as a whole, in excess of £120 billion every year. Caring is often for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, with no pay and no holidays!

Carers are often:

  • Isolated
  • Too tired to look for support
  • Exhausted or unwell themselves
  • In need of a break
  • Depressed and unable to cope
  • Suffering financial hardship

Carers Assessment Workers make contact and are then available to support individual carers, so that they can have time out - time for themselves.

FOSCN objectives are:

  • Raising funds
  • Raising the profile of Mental Health Carers
  • Funding carers' outings and pampering days
  • Organising fund raising events

Membership of FOSCN is open to anyone who is interested in helping us to achieve our objectives. If you are interested in becoming a member, please use the contact form and get in touch with us for more information.
